Advent is committed to improving trucker experience, making it easier to make appointments and providing a stable and secure platform to enable you to better manage your operations. The upgrade is part of our ongoing journey toward that goal.
How will the upgrade help me work more efficiently?
We are introducing a number of improvements:
Allowing you to create up to 10 moves of the same type quickly and easily
Validating data per step, rather than having to wait until the end to see if there are errors
Eliminating the sometimes annoying lag between fields that can slow you down when entering data
Intuitive, Wizard style screens mean new staff can become productive more quickly
Will the old screen still be available
No – the old screen is being replaced by our modernized new process.
Will I still be able to use my existing log-in
Yes – nothing about your log-in or profile will be changing. We are introducing a new process for booking appointments, but everything else will remain as before.
Do I need to affiliate with my Terminals again
No – all your existing affiliations with Terminals (and Trucking Companies) will remain in place. The upgrade is only to the appointment booking process.
Will my previous appointments still be available
Yes – any appointments made before the upgrade will be available in My Appointments as before. If you wish to edit, cancel or rebook the appointments, this will be done using the new process.
How do I create dual moves
While you are creating appointments, in step 2 there is an opportunity to Add Move to each booking using the button at the bottom right of each move. You can also Add Moves if you choose to edit an appointment at any time using the same button.
How do I know what errors there are on my appointments
There will be the familiar icons against each move, but also more information on screen to help you resolve the errors – the errors will usually be related to incomplete or inconsistent data, the same as today.
How do I edit appointments
Edit appointments action will be available in My Appointments, same as today. When choosing to edit an appointment, you will use the new process.
How do I rebook appointments
Rebook appointments action will be available in My Appointments, same as today. When choosing to rebook an appointment, you will use the new process.
How do I cancel appointments
Cancel appointments action will be available in My Appointments, same as today. You can also cancel multiple appointments using the check-box against each move.
Can I see appointment availability without entering lots of information
One of our new features is an appointment slot availability guide, which enables you to see a guide to slot availability for your current day and the day after. You can access this information on the first page of the new process using the calendar icon next to Move Type: Once Trucking Company, Terminal and Move Type have been entered, click the icon and a pop-up of availability will be presented. A green icon indicates more than 25% bookings are available; orange indicates less than 25% bookings are available; and red indicates the slot is not available.
I use ProPass, PortTruckPass or G&W VBS – will I get the upgrade?
At the moment, the upgrade will only be applied to eModal users, but we are working with the various Ports and Terminals to coordinate the upgrade of their systems – the Terminals will contact you when they are ready to upgrade.
How do I see if my appointment has been accepted by the terminal?
In step 4 of the new process, you will see a list of appointments you have requested – you can click the appointment number to see the status, or you can use the button to open My Appointments screen, and all your statuses will be available for you there.
