I'm already an eModal user, how will EDS work for me?
Our vision is that EDS should eliminate the need to use the eModal.com website entirely, however you may be asked to manage certain exceptions that arise there while we expand the API capabilities.
What does EDS cost?
A basic EDS subscription (Track/Trace for up to 1000 containers/mo.) is only $500/mo. plus a one-time $500 setup charge to test everything. From there, pricing is variable based on your container volumes and the optional services you choose (e.g. making appointments, paying fees, etc.). Container Track & Trace rates vary from $0.50-$0.10 per unit and include ALL key events in a shipment lifecycle, including the empty container return. What ports and terminals does eds serve?
Dozens of terminals and depots share data with eModal including 8 of the top 10 ports and nearly all major sites on the US West Coast including LA, Long Beach, Oakland, Seattle. Tacoma, NY/NJ, Virginia, Port Everglades, and South Carolina. CLICK HERE for the most updated list of facilities.
How long until I get data flowing?
Typically 2-3 weeks after sign up for basic container availability status. Additional services to notify partners or to make pre-advise/appointments with all your terminals takes a bit more time to set up.
